African American Atelier

The African American Atelier is located in the Greensboro Cultural Center on the 2nd floor.

Entrance and Building Access:
• From the Davie Street Entrance, there is a narrow wheelchair-accessible ramp into the building. A push-button door opener is installed as well. Signage at inaccessible entrances provides directions to accessible entrances
• From the Church Street parking deck, a paved walkway leads to a rear entrance with a pushbutton door opener. 

Internal Navigation:
• The Greensboro Cultural Center is fully ADA-accessible, with elevator and accessible restrooms on the 1st floor.

Seating: 
• Seating for this events is standard folding chairs, typically with approximately 18-inch seat height.  All seating is movable to accommodate mobility devices and companion seating.

MGS presents the Resident Ensemble - CR Quartet

Join us for special collaboration of our Resident Ensemble, CR Quartet, and Sip with Sherry at the African American Atelier!

This evening promises to be all kinds of fun!  CR Quartet will perform their mix of jazz standards and original works.  Sip with Sherry will provide a wine tasting and painting activity inspired by the music.  And the Atelier gallery will showcase the art and culture of African American artists.

This evening has a suggested donation of $20.  100% of donations will benefit the Hairston Middle School Band program.  The Hairston Band, under the direction of Rodney Milton, has partnered with MGS for the Chamber Ensemble Residency, and the CR Quartet has been working with the band students weekly since February.  

Come enjoy an evening of great music, enjoy a glass of wine, paint to the music if you are inspired, take in the art of the Atelier, and know that all of it is supporting the next generation of musicians and music lovers in our community.
