MGS presents the 2026 Resident Ensemble - CR Quartet

MGS 2026 Resident Ensemble CR Quartet performs at Grapes & Grains Tavern for a night of great music!

CR Quartet will perform, share info, and entertain audiences with jazz standards mixed with some original compositions.

The MGS Chamber Ensemble Residency is designed to provide performance opportunities and mentorship for an up-and-coming ensemble interested in chamber music as it was, is, and can be.  This year's Resident Ensemble, CR Quartet, consists of Calvin Richardson-guitar, Angel McCray-saxophone, Tyson Baker-bass, and Alston Harris-drums.

The Chamber Ensemble Residency has three main aspects, a mentorship program, a teaching program, and a series of community performances.  This year's mentor artists are the New Orleans Based Brockamp Quartet.  CR Quartet is also working with the students at Hairston Middle School under the direction of band director Rodney Milton.  Check our Education Page for all their public performances presented at no charge.
